Comparison Of Warranties On Pickup Trucks

If you're in the market for a pickup because you need a pickup, that is… you're going to put it to the test and need something tougher and roomier than an SUV, it's important to take a look at the warranties on competing models. Truck warranties cover four aspects of the vehicle: Basic Warranty (which covers pretty much everything on the truck in its early life), Drivetrain (the internal components that are often high-ticket items to replace), Rust (exterior of the car only), and Roadside (which means someone will head out to help you if your battery dies in the middle of nowhere or you run out of gas). We compared four popular trucks with regards to each of these warranty components: Dodge Dakota, Toyota Tacoma, Isuzu i-370, and the Ford Ranger. Here's what we found out:

Basic Warranty. Three years of coverage or up to 36,000 miles is the industry standard and covers the average lease, making all four candidates dependable with the Dakota, Ranger, and Tacoma coming in on par. The Isuzu i-370, however, comes out ahead in this category, with the Isuzu Basic Warranty covering three years or up to 50,000 miles. This is important if you do a considerable amount of driving or hauling and plan to put on more than 12,000 miles a year.

Tilt Masters Ergonomic Pallet Trucks

In smaller companies, every dollar counts when it comes to purchasing material handling supplies. In warehouses already at near capacity, where space is often very limited, a tilt master can safely maneuver where a fork truck cannot. Large pallets containing fragile materials can also easily be damaged when using generic pallet jacks that lack the hydraulic lift to properly elevate the supplies and move them from station to station or station to storage. Even more importantly, worker safety can be at risk in cramped quarters where laborers have to manually lift supplies, boxes, crates, and barrels. It is a scientific fact that severe back injuries can result from lifting only 25 pounds. Incorrectly, and the loss of skilled labor and the cost of workman’s compensation is far too much risk to take even for a larger organization. Tilt Masters pallet trucks resolve all of these problems with hydraulic and electrical lifting systems that can safely elevate loads of up to 3 tons to the necessary height and tilt at up to 90° to accommodate dual function as a transportation tool and temporary replacement for a worktable.

There are two series recommended: Manual and Tilt Master Straddle. The manual tilt master pallet truck works much like a pallet jack. It is ideal for lifting and tilting crates, boxes, and pallets with an open bottom. The key difference it offers from a pallet jack is ergonomic engineering that forces the worker to stand in a correct position when loading or unloading product. A person does not have to bend down or reach over to use the equipment, so the risk of shoulder strain or back injury is significantly minimized. The Tilt Master’s forks can be tilted at up to 90°, and it rolls smoothly over a variety of warehouse surfaces on 6 inches by 2 inches polyurethane swivel casters with brake and foot protectors.

Most of these same enthusiasts will tell you that their ATV winch saved the day. With most of the newer ATVs the ATV winch can mount to either the front or the back of the ATV and in some instances can be moved from front to back depending on the need. ATV winches come in a variety of strengths and can be used for nearly any purpose. The size of the winch you chose to put on your ATV depends greatly on how the ATV is operated and the size of the ATV itself. Regardless of the size chosen, ATV winches are a must have for a true outdoor ATV enthusiast.

Irs Issues Tax Credit Amounts For GM Trucks

As 2006 rolls along, the IRS is in the process of issuing tax credit amounts to particular hybrid vehicles. The agency has just issued the amounts for a number of GM vehicles.

As part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the tax advantages of owning a hybrid vehicle have been seriously upgraded. Prior to the Act, a person that purchased such a vehicle could claim a tax deduction of up to $2,000. While this was nice, the new Act changed the deduction into a tax credit. Tax credits are far better than tax deductions because they are reduced directly from the tax you owe, not your gross income.

Through 2006, the IRS is working its way through various hybrid models and issuing the amount of tax credit that can be claimed for each. Makes include Honda, Toyota, Ford, Lexus and just about every vehicle in the class. On July 11, 2006, the IRS issued a slew of tax credit determinations for hybrid trucks made by General Motors.
